The great American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “The earth laughs in flowers….” Texas artist Nancy B. Medina, CAE, has found a way to express that statement through her art. Nancy is an award-winning artist whose paintings are collected around the world. Her impressionistic florals and landscapes depict rich color and draw in the viewer with a sense of vibrancy and movement.
Nancy grew up on an organic farm in East Texas and often got into trouble in school for “doodling” in the margins of her school assignments. Today, her paintings have received Dallas Arboretum awards and she is a member of the prestigious Daily Painters Gallery, the original international gallery of 150 artists who produce new daily works of art for collectors around the world. Her work is represented by galleries in Texas and California.
Nancy has worked professionally in design and publishing for over 20 years. Her original paintings have been featured in print and Web publications and on the covers of magazines.
Nancy studied art history and color theory at Texas A&M University prior to beginning a painting career in Santa Barbara, California, where she specialized in large botanical and floral watercolors. Inspired by the plants in her back yard retreat, Nancy's large container garden paintings measure three by four foot in size and feature mother nature in her brightest attire – flowers.
Nancy owns Flower Mound Studio located in Flower Mound, Texas, where she resides with her husband Carlos and their three pugs.
